MADE IN AMERICA MANUFACTURING, LLC

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY

Made in America Manufacturing, LLC (“MIAM”) has adopted this Social Responsibility Policy (“Policy”) based on international standards of human rights, sustainability, and social responsibility, including the guiding principles of the Organization for Economic Co-Operations and Development (“OECD”).  MIAM strives to operate its business and treat the people who are a part of MIAM’s operations, whether within or outside of the organization, based on the core values of the United Nations Global Compact. This globally recognized social responsibility organization derives its ten key principles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

    6. Discrimination before hiring, on the job or upon leaving based on race and/or colour, sex, religion, political opinion, national extraction, age, HIV/AIDS status, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, workers with family responsibilities, and trade union membership or activities.

    7. 2. Assurances.  Workers and agents of MIAM:

    1. Can cancel their work contracts at any time with no financial penalty, subject to giving reasonable notice in accordance with local law or a collective agreement.

    2. Are paid wages meeting applicable host country legal requirements or, if there is no legal minimum wage, wages are aligned with the prevailing sector wage.

    3. Have the right to form and join trade unions of their own choosing, to bargain collectively, and to engage in peaceful assembly in conformance with local law.

    5. Undergo document checks (including proof of age documents) before they begin working to confirm they are allowed to work according to legal standards and applicable organization policies.

  3. Supplier Obligations; Flow Down of Requirements.  Suppliers of MIAM agree as part of their own contracts for services and materials with MIAM to incorporate this Policy by reference, to comply with its provisions as though they were the Supplier’s own, and to impose the same onto the Supplier’s own contractors and vendors in enforceable written agreements.  By serving as a Supplier to MIAM you agree to this – if you do not agree, you must notify MIAM of your unwillingness to do so and no longer accept purchase orders from MIAM.

  4. Risk Assessment; Training.  MIAM includes this Policy and the operational risks associated with the issues addressed herein in its own internal risk assessment process performed via Management Review in the context of its organization, and in accordance with MIAM’s ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100(D) certified Quality Management System.  Workers who have direct responsibility for supply chain management and recruitment receive training on how to mitigate risk associated with this Policy.

  5. Reporting; Corrective Action Process for Addressing Nonconformance; Public Disclosures.  Workers and agents may report, without fear of retaliation, matters related this Policy by emailing quality@madeinamericamfg.com.  MIAM’s corrective action process is used to respond to a failure by workers and agents to meet this Policy, including provision of a remedy when there is an adverse impact related to the topic(s) covered by this Policy.  This Policy is publicly posted on the MIAM website, and further public disclosures may be compiled to comply with legal or regulatory obligations as applicable.
